- but some animatronics would be nice. Give the actors something other than bright green stand-ins to interact with.

I agree. It has always been my opinion that you get better performances from actors if they have something to react to. A tennis ball on a pole just doesn't cut it. Animatronics or puppets enhanced with CGI would be great. That was why I was so disappointed when Favreau didn't get to do this film. He is really good at using the right amount of CGI. I hope Stanton displays the same level of skill.

Well, Stanton is working with artists Ian McCaig and Ryan Church, who have been with this project since Conran. Also, Jim Morris, a former executive at ILM is the producer of JCOM. The production is in excellent hands, and the team of professionals will only grow!

I am really glad to hear that. As I am sure all of you do, I have very high hopes for this film.

I would like to see the Tharks use their middle limbs sometimes at legs and sometimes as arms. It's one of the first things Burroughs describes when JC is staring with fascination at the baby Tharks in the incubator. And I've always imagined the tusks to protrude amidst the teeth of the lower jaw, like those of a wild boar, not jutting from the chin as often imagined. Though chin tusks would be WAY better than no tusks at all!

I think the production could get away with throwing some old, patched together Orovar armor onto the Tharks. With all the cuts and parries they experience, you'd think they'd put on some armor!

The mention of the Ororvar armour, reminds me I'd like to see some hints of ancient Orovarian heraldry in the interiors of the Jeddak's palace in Thark or Warhoon, or in the buildings of Korad such as when John Carter first meets Lorquas Ptomel in the audience hall. There's also the scene where he and Dejah Thoris explore some of the buildings. Schoonover has a nice take on it though the art on the wall looks a little too European and genteel for Barsoom, even in ancient times.
